Kala believes in self-sustainability with special consideration given to lending a hand to help raise others up. She has been on many boards, including being Chairwoman for the now defunct Lake County Green Congregations whose focus was on green/sustainable education and treating our one world with the utmost respect. She believes in living a life that will not mar the earth, rather improving it so it is better for the next generation.

Kala loves camping, traveling, gardening, canning, and so much more. If you think of Cottagecore, that’s Kala. Before the pandemic happened, she and her husband were planning a 3 to 6 month backpacking trip in South America and Asia for their honeymoon. As part of the prep work, she completed the Wilderness First Aid course through NOLS and is now looking forward to expanding those skills for the Wilderness First Responder course later this year.
